Terms of Service

In force from 14 September 2026. Version 1.2. Terms of service for the provision of services by electronic means within the meaning of art. 8 of the ustawa z 18 lipca 2002 r. o świadczeniu usług drogą elektroniczną (the Polish Act of 18 July 2002 on Providing Services by Electronic Means).

The rules for using the Meldly app. This document is short, because the service is simple: we count points at the table.

We make these terms available free of charge before the contract is concluded, in a form that lets you download, reproduce and store their content — you can save or print this page at any time.

1. Who provides the service

The service provider is Krzysztof Bzdęga, a sole trader operating under the business name Asgard-Technologies Krzysztof Bzdęga, ul. Limby 7 lok. 10, 71-784 Szczecin, Poland, entered in the Central Register and Information on Economic Activity (CEIDG), NIP 5941472283, REGON 320102307, referred to below as “we”.

Address for service: as above. Contact: contact@meldlyapp.com. We do not run a telephone helpline — we deal with everything by e-mail, usually within two working days.

The same address is the point of contact for users and for the authorities of the Member States, the European Commission and the European Board for Digital Services within the meaning of art. 11 and 12 of the Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065). We communicate in Polish and English.

2. What Meldly is

Meldly is a mobile app that keeps score in board and card games. Through it we provide the following services by electronic means:

Meldly is not a game and does not replace the rules of a game. We do not provide a board, tiles or gameplay. The app counts points according to the variant you choose yourself, and the final call at the table always belongs to the players.

Meldly is not affiliated with or authorised by the publisher of the game Rummikub®. Game and variant names serve only to indicate what a given scoring scheme fits.

3. Technical requirements

To use Meldly you need:

Using services provided by electronic means comes with the usual risks of the network — interception of transmissions, malicious software, attempts at phishing. We limit them by encrypting all communication and storing passwords only as hashes; on your side, an up-to-date system and not sharing your password with third parties help.

4. Account, age and conclusion of the contract

If you are under 18, you may use Meldly’s free features on your own, but you may buy tokens and subscriptions only with the consent of a parent or guardian. This follows from the rules on capacity to perform legal acts (art. 17 and 20 of the Kodeks cywilny — the Polish Civil Code), not from a decision of ours.

5. Tokens and premium

Keeping score is free. Only the additional features are paid for, above all reading points from a photo, which costs us real money every time it is used.

What stays free

Both ways of playing, the scoring, every rule variant, the history of your last twenty games, offline mode and sharing the evening's summary as a picture are free and will stay that way. Nor do we show adverts — in any version.

What premium covers

Prices

ItemPriceWhat you get
Monthly premium PLN 16.99 / month the features listed above and 150 tokens a month
Annual premium PLN 120 / year the same, billed once a year; tokens still arrive every month
Token pack PLN 20 200 tokens, a one-off purchase, available without premium too

The prices above apply in Poland and include tax. In other countries the price in your local currency is set by the store — the price shown on the purchase screen before you confirm is always the binding one.

Welcome tokens

When you create an account you receive 10 tokens, so that you can try reading from a photo without paying anything. This is a one-off allowance: it does not renew and does not come back once it has been used.

Two kinds of token and how long they last

Tokens from the subscription and tokens bought separately differ in how long they remain valid. It is the only difference between them, but it matters, so we set it out plainly:

Where the token comes fromHow long it lasts
The premium allowance (150 a month) until the end of the month it was granted for. The allowance renews every month back up to a full 150 tokens, counted from the day of purchase. Unused tokens from the previous month do not carry over
A pack bought separately (200 for PLN 20) indefinitely, for as long as the account exists — including after the subscription ends
Welcome tokens (10) indefinitely, for as long as the account exists

The spending order works in your favour. Every scan takes a token from the monthly allowance first, and only once that is exhausted a purchased or welcome token. That way what would expire at the end of the month is used up first.

When premium ends — whether you cancel it or it simply expires — the unused monthly allowance is lost, while separately purchased and welcome tokens stay on the account. They also stay if the store refunds your subscription.

When we charge a token

Tokens and premium status are tied to the account and cannot be exchanged for money or transferred to another account. The validity of each kind of token is set out in the table above. These reservations do not limit your rights arising from withdrawal from the contract or from the service not conforming with the contract.

6. Payments and the right of withdrawal

Withdrawal from the contract within 14 days

As a consumer (and also as a natural person concluding a contract directly connected with their business activity where that contract is not of a professional nature for them) you have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days, without giving a reason.

When that right expires. For digital content supplied without a tangible medium, the right of withdrawal does not apply if three conditions are met together:

  1. performance began with your express and prior consent;
  2. you were informed that you would lose the right of withdrawal, and you acknowledged this;
  3. you received confirmation of the conclusion of the contract on a durable medium.

We ask for that consent separately, before the first token is charged, and you receive confirmation of the purchase by e-mail from the store. Until you start using the tokens you bought, the right of withdrawal remains in force.

Report your withdrawal to the store where you made the purchase, or write to us — we will pass the matter on and help see it through.

7. Rules of use

Providing unlawful content is prohibited. In addition, by using Meldly you undertake not to:

In the event of a serious or repeated breach we may suspend the account while the matter is being clarified, for no longer than 30 days, and if the breach is confirmed — terminate the contract with 14 days’ notice. Every time, we will give you the reason and tell you how to appeal — you send an appeal to the contact address and we will consider it within 14 days.

Neither suspension nor termination deprives you of tokens you paid for. If the contract is terminated on our initiative and you have not managed to use the tokens you bought, we will refund their value.

8. User content and reporting

A player name, group names, descriptions in problem reports and ideas sent in by users are content for which their author is responsible. You keep the rights to them; you only grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and display them to the extent needed to run the service, expiring when the content or the account is deleted.

You can report content that is unlawful or contrary to these terms from within the app or to the contact address. We confirm a report without delay and consider it without undue delay. We inform both the person who reported the content and its author of the decision and the reasons for it, indicating the possibility of an appeal — this procedure follows from the Digital Services Act.

9. Availability and liability

10. Complaints

Send a complaint to contact@meldlyapp.com, describing the problem and giving the e-mail address of the account.

We will reply within 14 days of receiving the complaint. If we do not, the complaint is deemed to have been upheld — this is what art. 7a of the ustawa o prawach konsumenta (the Polish Consumer Rights Act) provides, and you do not have to invoke this sentence for it to be so.

11. Out-of-court dispute resolution

We have not undertaken to use any particular out-of-court dispute resolution entity, and we are under no obligation to do so. That does not leave you without options — as a consumer you may use the out-of-court procedures for handling complaints and pursuing claims that are available in your own country of residence; the European Commission keeps the list of the entities notified in each Member State.

In a cross-border dispute within the European Union or the EEA, free help is given by the European Consumer Centres Network (ECC-Net) — it will tell you which body is competent and can contact the trader on your behalf. The centre for Poland is the European Consumer Centre.

If you live in Poland, information about these procedures is kept by the President of UOKiK (Urząd Ochrony Konkurencji i Konsumentów — the Polish competition and consumer protection authority), at polubowne.uokik.gov.pl. The routes available here are in particular:

We do not refer you to the EU ODR platform, because it ceased to operate on 20 July 2025, when Regulation (EU) 2024/3228 repealed Regulation (EU) 524/2013. Keeping a link to a platform that no longer exists is sometimes treated as misleading the consumer.

12. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms only for important reasons, which are:

  1. a change in the law or in how a court or an authority interprets it;
  2. a change in the scope or manner of providing the services — adding, changing or withdrawing a feature;
  3. a change in the technical requirements or in the suppliers we use;
  4. the need to counteract abuse or to improve security;
  5. removing ambiguities, errors or clerical mistakes, without changing the substance of any provision.

We will give notice of a change in the app and by e-mail at least 14 days before it takes effect, stating exactly what is changing. If you do not agree to it, you may terminate the contract with immediate effect within that time — we will refund in full the value of unused tokens that were paid for.

A change does not affect contracts already performed or purchases made before it took effect.

13. Governing law

Polish law applies to the contract. This choice does not deprive you of the protection afforded by the mandatory provisions of law of the country of your habitual residence, if you live in another European Union country.

Disputes are settled by the ordinary courts having jurisdiction under the general rules. We do not impose on you the court having jurisdiction over our registered office.
